After School Care

After School Care Programs Available

There are a few options available for aftercare for your child:

LEAPS Academic Enrichment Program
has made changes for the upcoming school year. The program for grades 1St -5th begins on August 29th.  The kindergarten program begins on September 19th, the first day of 1:00pm dismissal for kindergarten students. The program runs from dismissal until 6 p.m. daily for grades 1st-5th and 5 p.m. daily for kindergarten. The LEAPS program runs until the last day of school.  The program provides daily nutritious snacks, homework assistance and activities to support state standards (e.g., math and literacy) The LEAPS afterschool program is designed to be 50% Academic and 50% Enrichment. LEAPS staff works closely with school staff to align program elements with day to day instruction. Attendance is mandatory, and you can lose your space in the program if your child has frequent absences or tardies at school. Applications are available in the school office and space is limited to 95 students. There is a $50 cash (no personal checks) non-refundable registration fee per year.  If you would like to request a payment plan, please see the site supervisor.  On August 31st from 6pm-7pm there will be an important LEAPS Parent Information Night at Washington School. At this meeting we will review rules, polices, procedures and set goals for this upcoming school year. Question/Concerns please contact: Theresa Barnes, LEAPS Afterschool Site Supervisor: (510)846-4058 email: Tbarnes@bacr.org
