The Washington School Community Garden is a habitat restoration that:

  • Provides a space for the regeneration of the native flora and fauna of Alameda,
  • Supports the curriculum and activities of teachers and students;
  • Fosters community involvement with the school;
  • Responds to the growing awareness about issues of environmental protection, food security and sustainability.

Want to get involved?

Volunteers are needed for year round maintenance to keep our plants happy and healthy. Something as small as helping to water will make a huge difference! Email Cara Watkins to find out how you can help to keep our garden growing.
